Electronic warfare: “sword against sword”
Зі збільшенням чисельності видів засобів дистанційного ураження, рівно як і методів керування, також розвиваються засоби радіоелектронної боротьби (РЕБ).
As the number of stand-off strike systems grows — along with the number of ways to control them — electronic warfare (EW) systems develop too.

The electronic-warfare race has never stopped. The enemy actively employs jamming of various types, but its properties currently lag behind what would be needed for full protection against newer strike systems. That said, the example of “Khvylia Kupol Harant” shows that experimental types of jamming against satellite communications do partially protect the enemy’s points of interest from the Defence Forces.
Statistically, the number of stand-off strike methods exceeds the available methods of protection.
For the near future we are at a point in time without “shields” — right now it is “sword” against “sword”.
Але теорія досить сильно відрізняється від практики. Нікого не здивує відео ураження з FPV на аналоговому сигналі по «буханці», вусмерть обвішаній РЕБами будь-яких діапазонів — приблизно така ж ситуація в оперативному та стратегічному масштабах.
Як і всю прийдешню історію, засоби ураження еволюціонують швидше, ніж засоби ефективного захисту.

Засоби РЕБ проходять важку модульну трансформацію по всьому світу, бо кожен засіб має своє чітке ефективне призначення, яке стрибок у технологіях ураження на зараз перестрибнув.
Через що вони не можуть вважатися ефективною мірою протидії в тому вигляді, в якому вони масштабовані.
But theory differs from practice quite sharply. Nobody is surprised any more by footage of an FPV drone on an analogue link hitting a van that is bristling with EW units across every band — and the picture at the operational and strategic scale is roughly the same.
As throughout the whole history ahead of us, the means of attack evolve faster than the means of effective defence.
The direct parallels shown on the slide
- An EW station jamming the radio link — while a radio-controlled UAV strikes its target.
- An EW station jamming satellite control — while a satellite-guided UAV strikes its target.
EW systems are going through a difficult modular transformation worldwide, because each individual system has its own narrowly defined effective purpose — and the leap in strike technology has, for now, jumped clean over it.
Which is why they cannot be considered an effective countermeasure in the form in which they have been scaled up.
